Serena Helps Meghan Markle, Calls out Tabloid Sexism and Racism

Serena Williams has voiced her help of excellent pal Meghan Markle.

In a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey that aired on CBS Sunday evening, the Duchess of Sussex confessed she struggled with ideas of suicide after experiencing an onslaught of criticism from tabloid media.

“I simply didn’t see an answer,” Meghan Markle advised Oprah. “Look, I used to be actually ashamed to need to say it on the time and ashamed to need to admit it to Harry particularly, however I knew that if I didn’t say that I’d do it…

“I simply didn’t need to be alive anymore. And that was a really clear and actual and horrifying fixed thought. … I believed it will have solved every little thing for everybody.”

Serena, who attended Meghan Markle’s marriage ceremony to Prince Harry, took to twitter to help her pal saying she has first-hand expertise enduring “sexism and racism” in tabloid media protection.

“I do know first hand the sexism and racism establishments and media use to vilify ladies and other people of colour to reduce us, to interrupt us down and demonize us,” Serena posted on Twitter. “We should acknowledge our obligation to decry malicious, unfounded gossip and tabloid journalism. The psychological well being penalties of systemic oppression and victimization are devastating, isolating and all too typically deadly.

“I would like Meghan’s daughter, my daughter and your daughter to reside in a society that’s pushed by respect.”
