On This Day – 6th June – Far Post Header


156,000 Allied troops landed on the north coast of France on this present day in 1944 in what’s now generally known as D-Day. They fought to realize a stronghold of the world to slowly push the German forces again and slowly took again France.

Round 4,400 Allied troops died in the course of the invasion. They misplaced their lives attempting to offer us our freedom. Might their sacrifice by no means be forgotten.
