Leigh Griffiths: ‘No criminality’ as police clear Celtic striker over online messages

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has been cleared by police over allegations of sending inappropriate messages to 2 schoolgirls.

Police Scotland stated it had established there was “no criminality” after finishing up a “full evaluation” on claims the 30-year-old exchanged improper messages with a 15-year-old lady, in addition to one other teenager, on social media.

Griffiths, a father of 5, was despatched residence from Celtic’s pre-season coaching camp final week after officers started their investigation.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman stated: “In relation to current reporting concerning alleged inappropriate communications on-line, a full evaluation has been carried out and it has been established there isn’t any criminality.”

Celtic have been requested for remark.

The membership took up a one-year possibility on the striker’s contract earlier this month after his Parkhead future had been doubtful.
