n a latest interview with Spanish Radio and Tv Company (RTVE), Carlos Moya — Nadal’s coach — provided a further clarification for the choice.

“The clay-court swing was very powerful, with loads of bodily and psychological stress,” Moya mirrored. “Rafa completed exhausted. He’s going to take a well-deserved relaxation. This can be a marathon, a long-distance race, wherein onerous choices must be made and he has thought of that the most effective factor is to cease [so that he can] come again at full energy.
