Staff USA head coach Gregg Popovich admitted earlier this month that he was going to demand quite a bit out of Cleveland Cavaliers star Kevin Love at this summer season’s Tokyo Olympics.
That demand may have contributed to Love’s resolution to withdraw from Staff USA and never take part within the Olympics. The 32-year-old continues to be returning to type after struggling a proper calf harm that sidelined him for a lot of the 2020-21 NBA season.
Love’s agent, Jeff Schwartz, offered an announcement from the Cavs veteran to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Friday. The five-time All-Star says he’s “extremely upset” that he can’t compete in Tokyo.
