MMA Junkie’s ‘Submission of the Month’ for March: A surging light-weight mauls

Rising UFC light-weight contender Makhachev placed on a clinic, outclassing Dober for his seventh consecutive octagon victory.

Makhachev out-grappled Dober for 2 rounds to then submit him on the 1:37 mark of Spherical 3 with an arm-triangle choke.

The 29-year-old took down Dober seconds into each spherical and utterly dominated the motion, always in search of submissions and setting Dober in survival mode. It wasn’t till the third spherical and a number of other submission makes an attempt later that Makhachev sunk in an arm-triangle from half guard that pressured Dober to faucet out.

Makhachev, a detailed pal and teammate of retired UFC star Khabib Nurmagomedov, is considered probably the most promising rising contenders within the light-weight division.
