Ben Guite Named Interim Head Coach at Maine

Following the sudden, stunning demise of head coach Crimson Gendron final week, the College of Maine introduced this week that affiliate head coach Ben Guite will function interim head coach for this system.

Guite is a Maine alum that performed a key position on the Black Bears 1999 NCAA championship group, and helped lead the group to the Frozen 4 once more in 2000. After faculty, he had a profitable professional profession that included 174 video games on the NHL stage and 582 video games on the AHL stage.

Guite started teaching in 2013, when he was employed onto Crimson Gendron’s workers as Maine. After two years as an assistant coach, he was promoted to affiliate head coach.

Within the faculty’s press launch, Maine athletic director Ken Ralph mentioned:

“We’re lucky to have somebody of Ben Guite’s expertise and character to information our program via this troublesome time. Ben is a Black Bear alum, a nationwide champion, performed within the Nationwide Hockey League, and has established himself as one of many prime assistant coaches in faculty hockey. Extra importantly, there isn’t any one who cares extra in regards to the College of Maine and the success of its hockey program.”
